Why Is T- Shirt Printing In Singapore the Best?

Some of the many reasons for enabling t-shirt printers at Singapore to stand out are as follows:

  • The quality – The Singaporean manufacturers are extremely concerned about the quality of the service and the products they offer. Their smart method of creativity, texture and colour deliverance enhances the quality of the print. The materials used to make the colour are made to withstand regular washings. These qualities help to print t-shirts with high durability. Moreover, these materials do not fade easily.
  • The creativity and designs used to print tshirts -Singapore is well known for its t-shirt designs that are up to date in the fashion industry. These designs are birthed out of creative colour co ordinations and combinations.
  • Low priced and cost effective – T shirt printing in Singapore is not as expensive as in other countries, compared to the quality offered here. The t-shirt printers will ensure to exceed your expectations.
  • Excellent service – majority of the garment printers at Singapore offers impressive and professional service. The orders are delivered on time. They respond attentively to all customer inquires.

Understanding Silk Screen Printing

Silkscreen printing is an exclusive type of printmaking that involves the hand of a creative artist. In the process, a design is transferred to a screen that is held tightly by brackets. The tshirt printer then places the designed screen on a t-shirt. After the ink is poured to one end of the designed screen, a roller is moved across the screen in order to spread the ink. This printed t-shirt is then left to dry.

Silk screen printing was initially introduced to make expensive wall papers. The main principal of silk screen printing is to ink the forms with acids and chemical dyes, which are then passed through a stencil. These stencils help to block out the portions to be inked.  The Silk screen printing technology has highly enhanced the productivity of t-shirt printing in Singapore.More...

Tshirt Printing Manchester - Design Your Own Organic TShirts

Buying organic tshirts is a good way to do your part for the environment.  You are not limited to buying aplain design or one that someone else came up with.  Instead, you can design your own tshirts.  Here are a few tips.

One of the first things you will need to do is think about the material the tshirt is made from.  Most people choose organic cotton, although there are plenty of other choices.  Two of them include fleece and bamboo.

People often say that organic tshirts made from bamboo feel much like silk.  They are also lightweight and have excellent wicking properties, so they make a good choice for the summer months.  Fleece tshirts on the other hand are good for winter since they are quite warm.

When designing your own organic apparel and tshirts, you will obviously need to come up with a good design.  If you are handy with a graphics application, then you should be able to come up with your own easily.  Just make sure you make it the right size so it will look good on the front or back of a tshirt.

If you do not know how to create your own logo or design, then you may need to look for one on theinternet.  There are plenty of options available.  If you plan on selling the tshirts, then make sure you do not use copyrighted material or you will surely regret it.  Another option for anyone would be to hire someone to create the design.

When designing your own tshirts, you will have plenty ofoptions.  You can have a design on the front, the back, or both.  You may also want text on the tshirt, so you will need to make sure your logo or design leaves enough room for it.

You will need to think about the best size font to use.  If you want your tshirts to be read easily from a distance, then you will obviously need to use a larger font.  If that is not important to you, then you can choose a smaller font.

The color of your tshirts will also be another consideration.  These tshirts cannot be colored using synthetic inks or dyes.  Instead, they rely on vegetative matter and animal residue for coloring.  You will still have a wide variety of color options to choose from however.

Buying organic tshirts is becoming much more common these days.  You can be even more unique and try to design your own.  Just keep the above tips in mind when doing so.More...

Tshirt Printing Manchester - How To Buy Dog Tshirts For Your Pet

If you think people are the only ones fashionable, then you are wrong. It seems that you may be a little out of loop as even dogs are becoming fashionable nowadays. They can now wear dog shoes for their four legs each, and they have their own branded merchandise.

You can even let your pets wear cutesy dog tshirts for everyday use, special occasions, and sporting activities. The designs are the least of your problems as there are many kinds of cloth, prints, and fits available.

More than fashion, the tshirts serve a more important function when it comes to keeping your dog clean and hygienic. They protect the fur from floating away in the wind, and infecting people with allergies especially in a public setting. Plus, the dog tshirts are also good for keeping your pets looking civilized inside the mall. Lastly, they sure look so good with one on.

Here is a guide on how to buy dog tshirts for the first time dog owner. First of all, you have to understand that fit is key to ensure comfort and protection for your little loved one.

1.Decide for which purpose.

Different tshirts are needed for various purposes. If you plan to tag your pet dog along in a sporting event, then it would be advisable to buy tshirts built for such an activity. Otherwise, if you will only bring your pet to the mall, look for a tshirt that is built for the chilly temperature. Deciding on which purpose the tshirt is for will help you pick the kind of fabric needed.

2.Look for a breathable and comfortable fabric.

You want to make sure that the dog tshirts you are going to buy is made of comfortable and breathable fabric. Even if the designs look good and amazing, if it is made of scratchy and hot material then say no. The number one factor you should consider is the safety and comfort of your pup so choose only those that are easy to wear items.

3.Customize the design or look for ready-to-wear alternatives.

This is the part where you can start planning for the design and appearance of your dog's tshirts. If you cannot find for something you like that is featured on shops, then you can make your own designs and have it custom-made. Be prepared however, to shell out more money for custom-made shirts as these are more expensive than retail items.

4.Fit the tshirt on your dog.

This step is so easy. You just have to fit the finished tshirts to see if you pup looks good on them and they are comfortable at the same time. If both the criteria are passed, then the tshirt can be used for its intended purpose. If it is too tight or restricting, consider having it remade or adjusted. Never compromise the comfort of your puppy.

5.Buy only comfortable items.

Lastly, do not buy items that are too flashy yet tight to wear. They may look good but if your puppy cannot move in them, then what is the point? If you will spend money, then make sure that the tshirts are something your puppy can really use in the long run.More...

The wholesale printed tshirts can be worn for one day at the office to bring about team spirit, too.

9. Sports promotions. Youth baseball, softball, soccer and tons of other teams use wholesale printed tshirts for uniforms and to build the brand of the sponsor. The custom wholesale printed tshirts are used in a variety of youth sports and even in adult leagues. Wholesale printed tshirts and sports go hand in hand.

Fundraisers. If you're trying to raise money for a cause, use wholesale printed tshirts as an incentive – with a dual purpose. Recipients and donors who receive the shirts may be more tempted to give, and the more they wear the shirts, the more your cause gets exposure in public.

Tshirt Printing Manchester - T-Shirt Design - Choosing Between Screen and Digital Printing

Different techniques can be used to print your t-shirt design onto your T-shirt, and unsurprisingly, they produce different results. In this article, we examine screen printing and digital t-shirt printing, and the pros and cons of each one, to help you choose the best way to create your dream t-shirt.

Screen printing for t-shirts
If you had an industrious art teacher at school, you may have tried a simple version of screen printing in which a template for each colour of your design creates the spaces where the ink can be pressed onto the fabric. The same principle applies in professional t-shirt screen printing, although there is more automation of the actual printing once the set-up has been completed.

Digital printing
This is sometimes called "direct to garment digital printing" or simply DTG. This technique involves the application of textile water-based inks to the t-shirt using a specialised digital printer. The design is usually fixed onto the garment with a heat press.

Choosing the best t-shirt printing technique
When considering which technique to choose for a t-shirt print run, many people ask which provides the best quality finish. In fact, the best technique depends on the t-shirt design you want to print, as some are better suited to each technique. It also depends on the colours you are printing and the colour of the base garment too.

The best T-shirt designs for screen printing
Bold designs with thick lines and few colours are best suited to screen printing, producing very high quality results. If you are using a digital image with fine colour blending or black and white shading in your t-shirt design, screen printing will simply not be able to reproduce the image well.

Of course, other factors will influence the price of your t-shirt run, such as the number being produced, especially as screen printing does involve more setting up before printing can begin. The number of colours in the design also affects the price as a different screen is required for each colour.

If your T-shirt design is relatively simple, screen printing may well be the best option as it produces a very high quality finish. Many in the t-shirt printing industry maintain that the best vibrancy of colour can only be produced by screen printing. The durability of screen printed t-shirts following multiple wears and washes is also considered to be the best, but of course, the quality of inks used and the base garment will also be a factor.

The best T-shirt designs for digital printing
Advances in printing technology have improved the finish of digitally printed t-shirts immensely over recent years. If you tried it a few years ago and were disappointed by seeing dots in your design, don't let it discourage you now. Modern digital t-shirt printing machines produce better finishes now, with better durability than ever before.

If you are using a photograph or complex, multi-coloured image in your t-shirt design, digital printing is the way to go as it can reproduce photorealistic designs. In addition, it's the cheaper option if you only need a small number of t-shirts produced as the set-up costs are lower.

One important factor to consider with digital printing is the colour of the base garment, as generally that colour is the most prominent in the design, and as a result, best effects are achieved using white t-shirts when printing a multi-coloured design. Only the very best DTG t-shirt printers may be able to get excellent results with black or dark coloured t-shirts. Printing white ink can still be problematic, so avoiding using DTG t-shirt printing for designs that contain substantial white areas, especially on dark base garments, is a wise choice.

Summary
With the advances in digital T-shirt printing over recent years, it's no longer simply a case of "screen printing produces the best results" - instead, start with the needs of your design and examine whether screen printing or DTG digital T-shirt printing can best reproduce it.

In short, if your design is simple and has few colours, generally screen printing is the method to opt for, but may be more expensive for a small print run. If your T-shirt design involves many colours and photorealistic images, then digital printing should be your first choice. Of course, the best t-shirt printing companies will be happy to give you advice on what is best for your needs.

Tshirt Printing Manchester - Rastafari and Reggae Designs in T-Shirt Printing

T-shirt printing companies often feature symbolic prints on t-shirts. These symbols include political and social images that may have significance to a minority group or may represent a counterculture movement, such as the Rastafari Movement.

According to Wikipedia, most Rastas do not think of the movement as a "religion," but a "Way of Life." It is monotheistic, worshiping only one God, which they call Jah. However, this God is not a vague Almighty Being in the heavens, but incarnated as Haile Selassie I, the last Emperor of Ethiopia.

Rastafari has Afrocentric ideologies and teachings. Its members support the spiritual use of cannabis, or marijuana. It also has a tri-color flag-red, green and yellow-with a lion's silhouette printed at the center.

Bob Marley And Rastafari In T-Shirt Printing

The strong association of Rastafari with reggae is partly because of Bob Marley's stature and his membership in the movement. Bob Marley is one of the most popular Rastas in the world, and his popularity has helped spread the influence of the Rastafari Movement in the world.

Bob Marley's signature image-his wide smile and his dreadlocks-is one of the most popular designs in t-shirt printing. His face has been printed in different versions, either as a pencil sketch or as a photograph. The prints show Bob Marley in different poses, while singing onstage or with his head thrown back in carefree laughter.

Bob Marley heavily incorporated Rastafarian chants in his song. Aside from Marley, other reggae musicians also used music to spread the teachings of Rastafari. Musicians like Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer have integrated Rastafarian doctrine in their songs.

Red, Green And Gold In RastafariT-Shirt Printing

The Rastafari colors are green, red and gold, the same hues found in its flag. At the center of the flag the silhouette of a roaring lion stands proud while the horizontal stripes of the three colors are in the background.

Sometimes, the three colors serve as background to or were superimposed on top of Bob Marley's image. In a sketch of Marley's face, the same three colors were mixed with the dark lines. Other times, the lyrics of Bob Marley's songs accessorize the image.

Red signifies the blood of Black Jamaican martyrs, green represents the lushness of the Ethiopian or Jamaican countryside, and gold signifies the wealth of Africa. Sometimes, black is included as a reference to the Marcus Garvey movement.

Reggae and the Rasta movement are rich sources of artistic inspiration for t-shirt printing designers. The symbols from these movements touch the rebellious spirit of the angst-ridden youth of the seventies, and continue to nurture the same sentiments in today's generation. Custom printed t-shirts with these types of designs speak the messages that they want us to listen to.

Tshirt Printing Manchester - Direct To Garment Is Superior To Screen Printing

Printing tshirts using Direct To Garment (DTG) printing, the process of printing to cotton based fabrics (i.e. tshirts) using a large format inkjet printer, is far superior to screen printing, the process of pressing inks into fabric through a stencil. It is more environmentally friendly, less time consuming and more cost effective for smaller runs.

DTG tshirt printing is more environmentally than screen printing. DTG uses water-based inks to printing directly onto clothing, this means that there are no excess inks used in the actual printing and the only waste that does occur is from the occasional print head cleaning - it should also be noted that head cleaning does not involve any external materials only ink.

Of course, major head cleaning can be avoided by regular maintenance of the printer, and thus one head clean a day - a matter of millilitres - is usually sufficient. Then as long as waste ink is disposed of correctly, printing tshirts using the DTG method should have almost no environmental impact. Screen printing however has excess inks from parts of the stencil not printed to the tshirt and when screens are cleaned these excess inks are then washed down the drain.

The process of screen printing involves creating a stencil and then pressing inks through said stencil onto fabric. The stencil can be created by hand or photo emulsion, and for each colour of a design a new screen is needed. DTG uses only software and a computer to send a design directly to a printer and this can take a matter of seconds with all colours being printed at once. (On darker fabrics there is a white layer printed first and then the remaining colours). DTG is far less time consuming with regard to setup, and this is particularly useful when printing small runs of tshirts.

Smaller (less than 50) runs of tshirts are far more cost effective with DTG printing than screen printing. Minimal setup with DTG printing means that tshirt runs as low as 1 can be produced for a matter of $5 - $10 in materials (including tshirt) and for a print on white can take as little as 2minutes to produce. Screen printers may claim that on larger runs they can produce a much more economical print however with multiple colours, and then drying time this seems unlikely.

Printing tshirts using Direct To Garment printing is far superior to screen printing. Whilst both methods produce an excellent quality, DTG is far more environmentally friendly, is less time consuming, and more cost effective for smaller runs. Whilst screen printing is a tried and tested method of printing onto tshirts it seems that DTG printing is the way of the future.

Tshirt Printing Manchester - 8 Specialty Printing Techniques to Make Your T-Shirts Stand Out From The Crowd

If you want your t-shirt designs to be unique, to stand out from the crowd, try using some of the specialty printing effects outlined in this article. Specialty printing offers some genuine advantages. Besides simply looking awesome, special effects give your designs a point of difference from others and while they do cost more than standard screen printing, distinctive products often command higher sale prices.

Discharge ink

Discharge ink removes the existing dye from a t-shirt, leaving behind the natural colour of the fibre (generally some shade of beige). Colours can then be replaced in the fibres by adding inks to the discharge base.

Advantages: Using discharge ink on a t-shirt results in a solid, coloured print and a very soft hand (i.e. a soft 'feel' to the printed t-shirt). Discharge ink is especially valuable if you're printing bright colours on black t-shirts. The alternative technique for printing colours on a dark dye base requires an "undercoat" layer of white ink to ensure sufficient opacity of colour, resulting in a thick, heavy finish.

Disadvantages: Because it's impossible to know in advance how each shirt will react to discharge ink, colour matching can't be guaranteed and there may be some colour variation between prints throughout a run.

Photochromic ink

Photochromic, or UV-reactive inks, are almost transparent when viewed indoors but change to vivid colours in sunlight.

Advantages: Cool effects can be created with a print that effectively displays two different designs - one indoors, and another outdoors.

Disadvantages: Only a limited range of colours is available.

Glow in the dark ink

Glow in the dark inks do exactly what their name suggests - they distinguish themselves by glowing in the dark! In the light, these inks will appear semi-transparent.

Advantages: People can find you in the dark. (Just kidding. It's pretty cool, though.)

Disadvantages: The inks work best if they're printed on a white or pale coloured background, so a light coloured base layer is required on darker shirts.

Foil printing

Foil printing is a two-stage process which leaves a shiny metallic 'print' on the shirt. First, the garment is screenprinted, using a special adhesive rather than ink, and cured (dried) in the normal way. A sheet of foil is then heat-pressed onto the image created by the adhesive. When the press is lifted away, the foil sticks to the adhesive-printed areas and the excess is removed.

Advantages:

Foil printing gives the best shiny metallic printing effect. Bling!

Disadvantages: Because it's a two stage process, foil printing may not work quite as well for fine, detailed designs, and it's more vulnerable to energetic washing than most other decoration styles.

Metallic inks

Metallic inks result in a shimmery, sparkly effect, rather like metallic car paint. Metallic screenprinting is cheaper than foil printing, but doesn't have the same shiny effect.

Glitter printing

Like foil printing and metallic inks, glitter inks can make your design sparkly and eye-catching. They're available in a variety of colours.

Puff inks

Puff inks are created by mixing a specially formulated base in with the ink. The base-ink mix expands ("puffs") as the print is cured through the heat tunnel, leaving a 3D texture. Puff inks are also available in a wide range of colours.

Flock

Flock printing is achieved by adding a special base to the ink, which gives the ink a furry, velvety texture as it cures through the heat tunnel.

All of these specialty printing techniques can be used to give your designs a little "extra" something, make them special, unique.

Tshirt Printing Manchester - How to Use Different Types of Printing Methods on T-Shirts

There are many types of printing methods that can be effectively put into use for printing on T shirts. In olden days, printing was done on paper and walls with rubber or wooden plates carved to represent the characters and pictures needed. Today, we neither need to use the carving of wooden blocks, nor do we limit the walls and paper as areas for printing. Even smooth glass can be printed with the needed characters and pictures with special LASER technology. The latest trend at present is printing on T-shirts and this has been successful in finding buyers from all age groups. So how do we use the different types of printing techniques on T-shirts?

1. Painting logos and designs enjoys a good reputation of printing on T-shirts; such printing is said to be quite easy and it is worth the time that it takes to complete each T-shirt. Dye based paints are used to make the most creative and imaginative printing works on medium quality T-shirts. Very high quality T-shirts use this technique sparsely as the companies who make such T-shirts will have larger funds to go in for higher grade printing techniques.

2. Embossing a picture by using the 'dye process' is a system that is prevalent among industries who believe in traditional printing and among those companies whose production capacity is not very high. As they have all the time they need, they make designs and emboss them by using suitable dye colors on the T-shirts and by using the dyeing process itself.

3. Stitching the desired pictures and logos on T-shirts is the kind of printing which will never lose its popularity for any reason. People, who know to stitch, will make their own designs on the T-shirts they use and this type of printing has been done for centuries. Some very popular companies make use of this type of printing for their branded T-shirts and this seems to work magic for them by racking in the highest amount of sales percentage for their products.

4. LASER technology has been introduced in the printing business by some companies as this serves as a fine design maker and it has high precision in giving quality logos and designs. This LASER technology uses a high concentrated source of light spectrum to burn through the cloth materials of the T-shirts, to make beautiful designs by burning part of the material with high precision. This technique has its limitations though; you can use it only on materials that can tolerate heat up to a certain level. Materials which have a base of plastic and polyester will not be able to withstand even one percent of LASER energy. However this method has worked pretty well for other materials and is currently being used for T-shirt designing.

Tshirt Printing Manchester - Branding Your Company With Custom Printed T-Shirts

Any company that fails to build a brand name cannot expect to be competitive in the market today because branding is very important for survival in business. It is the brand that sells and builds an image out there in the business world. While branding always begins with certain ideologies and convictions and is a completely self-existent entity, your brand must communicate to the rest of the world for it to be known to exist. Building a brand can take a lot of time.

One of the best ways to build your company brand is to use custom printed t-shirts. Creating a custom printed t-shirt that you can use to brand your company is a wonderful way to engage people into your company and cause them to become loyal customers. These custom printed t-shirt wearers will also form a small army that will ensure that your brand name expands to new audiences and you gain optimum visibility.

If you want to reach people with custom printed t-shirts, you must do it in a way that you develop a brand that becomes extremely popular in a short span of time. If you design promotional t-shirts that are soon dumped in the closets because they cannot be worn, you will not achieve much. Because building your company brand will take time, you must choose the right kind of t-shirt to build your brand with. This is one of the single most important characteristic features of promotional merchandise. If you get it wrong the first time, you will cause more harm than good to your brand.

To begin building your company brand with a custom printed t-shirt, you must first start by identifying your target audience. Who do you want to target with your brand marketing? Once you know who your audience is, you need to sit down and prepare a budget for the production and distribution the branded t-shirts. If you are going to give away t-shirts for brand awareness, you need to identify the platform which you will use to give them away.

Tshirt Printing Manchester - Using Nature As Design Inspiration For T Shirt Screen Printing

Using Nature As Design Inspiration For T Shirt Screen Printing

T-shirt screen printing often produce designs that educate people and call them to act for the good of the majority. These t-shirts may sound anti-social, political or controversial to catch the attention of other people.

However, there are also t-shirts that simply show the beauty of nature - both fauna and flora. These types of designs are appealing to the public. Men, women and children can wear t-shirts screen printed with nature themed designs and no one will feel they are inappropriate for the wearer.

T-Shirt Screen Printing With Designs Of Animals

Some animals are fascinating to humans, and they often symbolize a concept or ideal. Take for example, the American Eagle. A t-shirt with a print of an eagle with its wings spread wide symbolizes pride in being American. Wearing such a t-shirt expresses patriotism on the part of the wearer.

The eagle is one of the animal designs favored for men's printed t-shirts. Another animal favored by men is the lion, which symbolizes strength and courage. The lion is often used for sports t-shirts and for logos.

The butterfly, dolphin, and horse are most associated with females because of the gentle and non-threatening nature of these animals. The butterfly is also favored because of its multicolored wings that are very attractive to the eye, much like the way women look very attractive to men.

Dolphins and horses are symbols of gentleness, wisdom and patience - qualities favored in women. Dolphins are often screen printed swimming underwater with other fishes, shells and water plants. Dolphins also symbolize the nurturing nature of women when it comes to their young and their affectionate nature towards their mates.

Horses, on the other hand, are often screen printed running in a group amidst a forest setting. The unseen wind is blowing the horses' manes as they are captured running freely through the green meadows. Horses symbolize freedom to be who you are. They also symbolize the affectionate nature of females and the loyalty to one's mate.

Other animals showcased in t-shirt screen printing may not have any symbolism attached to them. Animals in the jungle, the desert, and the oceans, and even the microorganisms around us, have been used as t-shirt designs.

T-Shirt Screen Printing With Designs Of Flowers and Plants

Of course, if there are animals, then there are also plants, particularly flowers. Colorful flowers are the favorite among girls. No guy is going to let anyone catch him wearing a flowery t-shirt. Only a Hawaiian shirt is the only flowery clothing worn by men.

The nearest to a flora that men allow themselves to wear on their t-shirts are leaves. Leaf patterns either in their spring or in their autumnal appearance are beautiful to look at. Like the flowers, leaves have a meaning associated with masculine characteristics - they provide food for the plant, foliage provides shade and protection, and they are resilient against the wind.

Rarely viewed as attractive plants, ferns are also used as parts of t-shirt designs for men's printed t-shirts. Other types of uncommon flora used for printed t-shirts are mosses and algae. They are often done as patterns for a t-shirt screen printing design.

Tshirt Printing Manchester - How to Use a T-Shirt Heat Press

If you have ever wanted to press your own t-shirts with your favorite design or emblem, you will be happy to know it really is not all that difficult. As long as you have a decent heat press and follow directions carefully, you can be well on your way to creating your own t-shirts. Here are some tips on how to use a t-shirt heat press.

Before doing anything you are going to want to wash your t-shirts in cold water and dry them on high heat. Once your shirts are all ready, next you want to create a design to place on the shirt. Be creative and come up with something that will entice others.

As soon as you have your design all ready, the next step of how to use a t-shirt heat press is to use professional heat transfer paper to print the design on. It is vital you print with a color ink to get the full effects.

Now that you have your graphics all printed out, cut them carefully while trimming as close to the edges of the image as possible. To make things easier on you, use a background that has color so you can easily cut around the shape efficiently.

The next step is to set the press following the instruction for the particular type of material, transfer paper and machine that you have. In order to do this you will need to do three things; you will need to set the temperature, pressure and the time for each t-shirt. As soon as you have these set, you will be ready to start making t-shirts.

To actually get under way, place the center of an image on a t-shirt. Use some kind of alignment tool like a ruler to make sure it is completely center. Some other ways you can center your image on the shirt include folding the shirt in half lengthwise or using a t-square.

One of the last steps for how to use a t-shirt heat press is to place the image ink-side down on the t-shirt while placing them on top of the Teflon pad inside of the press. By placing the Teflon sheet on top of the shirt you will avoid having the rubber in the machine stick to the shirt. Finally, lock the press and follow the timing instructions for each heat press.

As soon as the necessary time is complete the press should unlock on its own. Follow the directions to see whether you need to have the shirt and image cool or if you should remove the transfer paper while hot. As soon as you do pull back the transfer paper, allow the shirt 24 hours to cool and dry. As long as you follow the directions carefully you will have no problem creating your own t-shirts.

Tshirt Printing Manchester - Japanese Inspired Designs in T-Shirt Printing

A t-shirt printing artist's inspiration can sometimes come from exotic sources, one of which is Japan. In the world of fashion, Japan has produced a diverse body of work. From the classic lines to the weird get-ups, Japanese-inspired designs are perfect for printed kids' t-shirts, printed hoodies and printed sweatshirts.

Using Anime And Manga Characters In T-Shirt Printing

Perhaps the most popular imports from Japan today are the anime (animation) and the manga (comic books). Popular anime series like Naruto, Bleach, Hunter X Hunter, Ghost Fighter, and Dragon Ball Z have spawned numerous merchandise bearing the names and images of popular anime characters.

T-shirt printing artwork often features anime and manga characters with an edgy and fierce appearance. The colors are not flat, but painted in layers and gradients. The style is, in fact, so much similar to the way manga and Western comic book artists draw.

Anime and manga designs are perfect for printed kids' t-shirts. The shows and their characters are very popular among the young ones. Not only are they screen printed on t-shirts, but they are also found on printed hoodies and printed sweatshirts.

T-Shirt Printing With Domo-kun, Hello Kitty and Kero Kero Keroppi No Daibouken

Japan has not only shared its popular animes and comic books with the rest of the world. Long before the likes of Naruto and Son Goku caught the imagination of Generation X and the succeeding generations after, Sanrio characters Hello Kitty and Kero Kero Keroppi were the stars of children's tv show.

Hello Kitty is for girls. Pink ribbons and fluffy dresses match the cuteness of Hello Kitty's big round eyes and button nose. Like Barbie, Hello Kitty is also a fashion icon, spawning a wide array of merchandise, including printed girls' t-shirts.

For boys, Kero Kero Keroppi is their hero. The Romanized Japanese phrase "Kero Kero Keroppi No Daibouken" means Keroppi's Big Adventure. He is the main character in a video game where he has to rescue his girlfriend locked up in a castle.

Kids' t-shirt printing designs often include Hello Kitty and Keroppi designs. They are screen printed not only on t-shirts, but also on bags, caps and other types of merchandise, such as mugs and notebooks.

Domo-kun is initially not a kids' t-shirt printing design. Young adults often wear printed t-shirts with Domo-kun designs. Other types of merchandise printed with Domo-kun are caps, bags and mugs.

The adorable brown furry creature is the mascot of NHK Japan, a broadcasting network. Domo appears in a stop-motion animation shown as station ID. He has been featured in various promotions for 7-Eleven and Target. Nickolodeon has aired two-minute shorts featuring Domo-kun.

expression of "cheery wonderment," which is how Clint Bickham, the writer of the Domo comic books, puts it. His large, sawtoothed mouth is eternally open.

T-Shirt Printing With Japanese Cultural Designs

Anime and cartoon designs are the most popular these days in kids' t-shirt printing. T-shirt printing for adults, on one hand, not only includes anime designs, but also cultural symbols of Japan like the dragon and kanji.

The dragon is the most popular and easily recognizable symbol of Asia, particularly Japan and China. The dragon design is very much common, but the quality of the print is based on the skill and detail that went into the t-shirt printing.

Kanji is another cultural symbol unique to Japan. Most common kanji symbols used in t-shirt printing are the characters for Love, Peace and Prosperity. Other kanji characters form sayings or phrases, like shogyou mujou, or "the impermanence of worldly things."

Other t-shirt designs inspired by Japan include the Geisha, the Samurai, the Ninja, the Rising Sun, the samurai sword, the cherry blossoms (sakura tree), and the Japanese gate, torii. All these have served as inspirations for t-shirt printing artists all over the world.

Tshirt Printing Manchester - Is It Safe To Buy Cotton T-Shirts?

Cotton is, undoubtedly, one of the most known, looked for and used clothing's fabric high and low. It is widespread and people usually buy cotton plain t-shirts, for example, for the quality, as the fabric doesn't habitually cause irritations or allergies, allows skin to 'breathe' and it's a wash-and-wear material. Whether it's wholly cotton or mixed with polyester, it commonly comes at an affordable price. But did you know how cotton T-shirts are manufactured? And, most importantly, did you know that the way of manufacturing them can be harmful to the environment?

Pesticides are heavily used on cotton fields, in order to protect it from pests. It is normal for companies to want to keep safe their cotton production from insects. For that purpose, they use pesticides intensively. While it works for the cotton, as the pests are eliminated, however, pesticides are harmful for the environment, having devastating effects. Not only habitats are destroyed, but also human beings are affected.

For instance, it was discovered that quails, birds which usually nest around cotton fields, as they prefer tall vegetation, are the first to be affected. 60% of quails living near cotton fields were discovered to have pesticides inside of them. According to a study, due to methyl parathion, a spray that is used as a pesticide on cotton fields, quails can get sick and even die.

Conducted in 1978, the study also observed that quails often abandon their nests or don't watch out after their young. Their natural habitat is damaged in an era when animals are growing less with each day that passes.

Not only animals' habitats are affected. Apparently, people can get sick too. There were reported cases of farmers who either fell ill or died from intensive use of pesticides. Such a case was in Benin, a country in the west of Africa, in 1999. 24 men, who were working on cotton fields, died by reason of exposure to a common pesticide there, called Endosulfan. A high price to pay for some cotton plain T-shirts, right?

However, fortunately, there are ways of preventing this damaging or negative effect. Such a way is lessening the use of pesticides, by turning to a production consisting mainly in the use of organic means. Thus, organic cotton is produced which is, surely, better than cotton for which pesticides were used.

For the organic cotton, these manufacturers use more natural means in order to stop insects, like putting ladybugs on cotton fields. This way of pest protection is not only good for the environment, as it does not affect it or damage it, but is also safe for people working on the cotton fields. Companies like these, which produce organic cotton, can be found in Australia.

One thing you can guarantee will be found in every household is an abundance of plain t shirts. They are very easy to wear and can be very affordable as well. It does not matter if you are male, female, girl or boy; these are going to be present in the laundry each and every week. Just make sure to keep the colors separated from whites. Mixing them in the laundry can cause some staining. Some of these shirts can cost over twenty or thirty dollars, so be very careful.

Businessmen generally wear them under their dress shirts and ties. Women find them much more comfortable to wear while cleaning, exercising or simply running an errand. Not to forget the children; generally they are required to wear blank shirts under a uniform shirt. The demand on plain shirts in becoming more prevalent in today's society, but nowhere in society does it say that they have to remain white or plain.

You may be amazed by just how many different designs and styles you can come up with when you have plain t shirts in your midst. With a bowl of water, some food coloring and a few rubber bands you can actually make a very colorful tie dye t shirt with your own personal touch. Doing this you can use your favorite colors and showcase your masterpiece every time you wear it.

Many people look for plain tees specifically for silk screening as well. The blank shirt provides a perfect canvas to put your design on. Possibilities for designing this style is only limited by your imagination. Some companies have hundreds upon hundreds of designs and it does not even get old. Screening your own t shirts also lets you have something you can wear out that will be unique. Some popular brands that offer these blanks are American Apparel, Hanes, and Fruit Of The Loom.

Blank tees are a good choice for sports or outdoors activities as well. These shirts are usually made of cotton and are very breathable. You won't be distracted by any designs, so they are good for designating sports teams also. They offer great comfort for the gym or even just lounging around.

Some people look at plain shirts as items that just get washed every week with bleach and hot water. I look at blank t shirts as blank canvases just waiting to have color, paint and any type of designing that I see fit to add. Why not let your imagination go for a moment and just be an artist in your own right.

I wonder if the manufacturers of all of the plain t shirts realize just how much they are contributing to the world of art. Do they realize just how important their product is in today's market? With every t shirt they make they actually are supplying artists with a clean slate. Whether it is screen printing, airbrushing, gem design or a simple tie dye as mentioned above, the possibilities are virtually endless.

Tshirt Printing Manchester - Garment Printing Solutions

Everyone seems focused on saving money in this economy, and that philosophy extends to custom screen printing as well. Here are some time-tested tips that will ensure you get the best bang for your buck.

Fewer colors cost less. Screen printers use separate screens to print each color in your design. Each color is applied during a separate production run. So, a four color design will have 4X the screen creation expenses and 4X the production time. Think through your design carefully to see if you can create an attractive design in just one or two colors. In effect, your t-shirt color is also part of the design, so you may be able to "drop out" to use the background color effectively.

T-Shirt type and quality. You can probably save a bit of money by going with a 50/50 blend instead of 100% cotton. Using light-weight cotton, such as 4.9 oz. vs. the standard 6.1 oz. will cost less and be cooler, too. This is a matter of personal taste, so make sure you like the selected weight.

T-Shirt Color. All t-shirt manufacturers charge more for dark colors and black. A white t-shirt is always a little bit cheaper. You'll need to consider if a white t-shirt works with your logo or design.

Number of sides printed. Will it be acceptable if your design is only in the front of the shirt? T-shirts with both front and back designs have twice the production time.

Good quality artwork. It may be quicker to give your screen printer last year's t-shirt as a sample instead of looking for the original computer artwork. But, it is time consuming to recreate artwork or to clean it up. Screen printers will typically charge from $40 to $75 an hour just to enhance your artwork, so it is worth the effort to find someone in your organization to prepare the artwork.

Not only will good artwork save you money, but it increases the probability your organization will be happy with the final product. Make sure your artist prepares the design using a vector art program such as Adobe Illustrator or Coreldraw. Programs such as Microsoft Publisher or Powerpoint don't work-the artwork will need to be recreated since those programs aren't vector and therefore don't hold the detail when enlarged for printing.

Know before you go. Changing the design too late in the process can result in added artwork preparation expenses, or put your custom t-shirt project at risk to miss the production schedule. Make sure you have group design agreement before production starts. Ideally, you should do this before you even go to the screen printer. Get group signoff in writing!

Order a few extra t-shirts.There's always someone who wants a t-shirt and wasn't on your original list. Order a couple extra in different sizes so you aren't faced with paying for a new production run for just a couple of shirts.

Don't BYOT. You might think you can save money by "BYOT" or "Bring Your Own Tees." It may be tempting if you see some sale t-shirts at a discount store. However, as a bulk buyer of t-shirts, your screen printer can probably provide you with a lower price. Plus, the screen printing process results in some spoilage as presses are set up for test prints. Let your screen printer worry about buying the correct amount, and let them pay for any test shirts.

These eight tips are great ideas for reducing costs on your custom screen printing project. Keep in mind that what's most important is ensuring that your group is happy with the design and final printed custom t-shirt. Look to save money where you can, but don't sacrifice the project's objective or your organization's image.

Garment Printing Manchester – How are TShirts made ?

T-shirts are durable, versatile garments with mass appeal that may be worn as outerwear or underwear. Since their creation in 1920, T-shirts have evolved into a two-billion dollar market. T-shirts are available in a variety of colors, patterns, and styles, such as the standard crew neck and V-neck, as well as tank tops and scoop necks. T-shirt sleeves may be short or long, capped, yoked, or raglan. Additional features include pockets and decorative trim. T-shirts are also popular garments on which to display one’s interests, tastes, and affiliations using customized screen prints or heat transfers. Printed shirtsmay feature political slogans, humor, art, sports, as well as famous people and places. T-shirts are also inexpensive promotional vehicles for products and special events.

T-shirts fit just about anyone in any size, from infants to seniors. Adult sizes are generally small, medium, large, and extra-large, while sizes for toddlers are detained by month and weight. In addition, to compensate for the larger heads of infants relative to their bodies, shirts are specially designed with shoulder openings that may be fastened with buttons or snaps.

Raw Materials

The majority of T-shirts are made of 100% cotton, polyester, or a cotton/polyester blend. Environmentally conscious manufacturers may use organically grown cotton and natural dyes. Stretchable T-shirts are made of knit fabrics, especially jerseys, rib knits, and interlock rib knits, which consist of two ribbed fabrics that are joined together. Jerseys are most frequently used since they are versatile, comfortable, and relatively inexpensive. They also are a popular material for applying screen prints and heat transfers. Some jerseys come in tubular form, simplifying the production process by reducing the number of seams. Rib knit fabrics are often used when a snugger fit is desired. Many higher qualityT-shirts are made of durable interlock rib knit fabrics.

Neckbands add support to the garment and give the neckline of the T-shirt a more finished look. Neckbands are generally one-by-one inch rib knits, although heavier fabrics or higher quality T-shirts  may require two-by-two rib knits. Neckband fabrics may be tubed rib knits of specific widths, or flat fabric that must be seamed. Additional T-shirt materials include tape or seam binding, made of a twill or another stiff fabric. Binding reinforces the neckline and shoulder seams and by covering the seams, it protects them from ripping apart under tension. Alternatively, elastic may be used at the shoulder seams so they remain flexible.

Thread is of course an essential element in sewing any garment. Several types and colors of thread may be used to make a single T-shirt. Some manufacturers use white thread for seams on all their shirts, regardless of color, thus eliminating the extra labor involved in changing the thread. Visible top stitching is done with a color of thread that blends with the fabric. Colorless, or monofilament, thread could be used for hems of any color fabric, again eliminating the need to change thread often, though monofilament thread may irritate the skin somewhat. Finally, optional decorative features may include trim, such as braiding,

contrasting cuffs, appliqués, and heat transfer or screen print designs.

The Manufacturing
Process

Making T-shirts is a fairly simple and largely automated process. Specially designed machines integrate cutting, assembling, and stitching for the most efficient operations. The most commonly used seams for T-shirts are narrow, superimposed seams, which are usually made by placing one piece of fabric onto another and lining up the seam edges. These seams are frequently stitched with an overedge stitch, which requires one needle thread from above and two looper threads from below. This particular seam and stitch combination results in a flexible finished seam.

Another type of seam that may be used for T-shirts are bound seams, in which a narrow piece of fabric is folded around a seam, as at the neckline. These seams may be stitched together using a lockstitch, chainstitch, or overedge stitch. Depending on the style of the T-shirt, the order in which the garment is assembled may vary slightly.

STYLING

  • 1 The T-shirt style is designed and the dimensions are transferred to patterns. Adjustments are made for size differences and stylistic preferences.

CUTTING

  • 2 The T-shirt sections are cut to the dimensions of the patterns. The pieces consist of a tubed body, or separate front and back sections, sleeves, perhaps pockets, and trim.

ASSEMBLING THE FRONT AND BACK

  • 3 For fabric that is not tubed, the separate pieces for the front and back sections must be stitched together at the sides. They are joined at the seam lines to form a simple, narrow, superimposed seam and stitched together using an overedge stitch. Care must be taken to avoid a needle cutting the yarn of the fabric, which can lead to tears in the garment.

ASSEMBLING THE SLEEVES

  • 4 The hems of sleeves are generally finished before they are fitted into the garment, since it is easier to hem the fabric while it is flat. An automated system moves the sleeves to the sewing head by conveyor. The edge may be finished by folding it over, forming the hem and stitching, or by applying a band. The band may be attached as a superimposed seam or folded over the edge as binding.
  • 5 If the T-shirt body is tubular, the sleeve material is first sewn together, and then set into the garment. Alternatively, if the T-shirt is “cut and sewn,” the unseamed sleeve is set into place. Later during the final stage of sewing the shirt, the sleeve and side seams are sewn in one action.

STITCHING THE HEM

  • 6 The garment hem is commonly sewn with an overedge stitch, resulting in a flexible hem. The tension of the stitch should be loose enough to allow stretching the garment without tearing the fabric. Alternative hem styles include a combination of edge finishing stitches.

ADDING POCKETS

  • 7 Pockets may be sewn onto T-shirts intended for casual wear. Higher quality T-shirts will insert an interlining into the pocket so that it maintains its shape. The interlining is inserted into the pocket as it is sewn onto the T-shirt front. Pockets may be attached to the garment with automated setters, so the operator only has to arrange the fabric pieces, and the mechanical setter positions the pocket and stitches the seam.

STITCHING THE SHOULDER SEAMS

  • 8 Generally, shoulder seams require a simple superimposed seam. Higher quality T-shirt manufacturers may reinforce seams with tape or elastic. Depending on the style of the T-shirt, the seams at the shoulder may be completed before or after the neckband is attached. For instance, if a tubular neckband is to be applied, the shoulder seams must first be closed.

ATTACHING THE NECKBAND

  • 9 For crew neck shirts, the neck edge should be slightly shorter in circumference than the outer edge where it is attached to the garment. Thus, the neckband must be stretched just the right amount to prevent bulging. Tubular neckbands are applied manually. The bands are folded, wrong sides together, stretched slightly, and aligned with the neckline. The superimposed seam is stitched with an overedge stitch.Bound seams are finished with a cover stitch and are easy to achieve. Bound seams may be used on a variety of neckline styles. The process entails feeding ribbed fabric through machines which fold the fabric and apply tension to it.

Some neckbands on lower-priced shirts are attached separately to the front and back necklines of the garment. Thus when the shoulder seams are stitched, seams are visible on the neckband.

V-necks require the extra step of either lapping or mitering the neckband. In the former process, one side is folded over the other. A mitered seam is more complex, requiring an operator to overlap the band accurately and stitch the band at center front. An easier method for a V-neck look is to attach the band to the neckline and then sew a tuck to form a V.

FINISHING THE NECKLINE

  • 10 Necklines with superimposed seams may be taped, so that the shirt is stronger and more comfortable. Tape may be extended across the back and over the shoulder seams to reinforce this area as well and to flatten the seam. The seam is then cover stitched or top stitched.

LABEL SETTING

  • 11 One or more labels are usually attached at the back of the neckline. Labels provide information about the manufacturer, size, fabric content, and washing instructions.

OPTIONAL FEATURES

  • 12 Some T-shirts will have trim or screen prints added for decorative purposes. Special T-shirts for infants have larger openings at the head. The shoulder seams are left open near the neck, and buttons or other fasteners are attached.

FINISHING OPERATIONS

  • 13 T-shirts are inspected for flaws in the fabric, stitching, and thread.
  • 14 High-quality T-shirts may be pressed through steam tunnels before they are packaged. Packaging depends on the type of T-shirt and the intended distribution outlet. For underwear, the shirts are folded and packaged in pre-printed bags, usually of clear plastic, that list information about the product. Shirts may be boarded, or folded around a piece of cardboard, so that they maintain their shape during shipping and on the shelf. Finally, they are placed into boxes by the dozen or half-dozen.

Quality Control

Most of the operations in manufacturing clothing are regulated by federal and inter-national guidelines. Manufacturers may also set guidelines for the company. There are standards that apply specifically to the T-shirt industry, which include proper sizing and fit, appropriate needles and seams, types of stitches, and the number of stitches per inch. Stitches must be loose enough to allow the garment to stretch without breaking the seam. Hems must be flat and wide enough to prevent curling. T-shirts must also be inspected for proper application of neck-lines, which should rest flat against the body. The neckline should also recover properly after being slightly stretched.

The Future

Exposure to sun’s harmful rays has become a concern to many people who enjoy outdoor activities. In addition to sunscreen and sun glasses, sun-blocking T-shirts are now available. Founded by Harvey Schakowsky, SPF Wear company has introduced a line of clothing, including T-shirts, that blocks out 93-99% of ultraviolet rays. A typical T-shirtblocks out only 50% of the rays. Using a fabric called Solarweave, these new T-shirts are made out of synthetically woven nylon treated with a special chemical substance.
